'The Warden' by Anthony Trollope adapted by Pelham Elliott

A new adaptation of Trollope's well-loved first novel in the Barchester Chronicles.

The music-loving, gentle, Septimus Harding is the warden of the almshouses in Barchester. His gentle existence and the equilibrium of the Cathedral Close is shattered when the reformer, Bold, launches a campaign to expose what he sees as the unfairness of the comfortable living enjoyed by the warden using income that Bold believes should go to the poor. The Archdeacon Grantly is determined to fight the case.

The development will have repercussions for others in the Close - not least of whom are Harding's daughters - the elder is married to the Archdeacon...but the younger is in love with Bold!
