THE ASHLEY COOPER INTERVIEWS

Local historian Ashley Cooper is filmed in conversation with seven Sudburians, from different walks of life, as they recall fascinating glimpses of the town’s past.

There are memories of the Silk industry, Primary School days in the 1940’s, nursing at Walnutree Hospital, World War Two, the USAAF base at Chilton, local brick making, the barriers to girls studying science in the 1950’s, Sudbury Rugby Club, the saving of St. Peter’s Church and the new Schools of the 1970’s, together with very much more….

Ashley Cooper is well known to Quay Theatre audiences. He is the author of five books, regularly lectures at Quay Theatre ‘History Sundays’ and has also presented the ‘Caught on Camera’ evenings.
